Continuing Professional Development - Fire Evacuation for Disabled People

Post seminar survey result: of those who attend Deaf Alerter plc's CPD – over 90% found the contents of the seminar very useful

Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is simply a method of ensuring that you achieve the right skills and knowledge to do your job and maintain and enhance your expertise. CPD embraces everything that you do to improve your job performance and your 'lifelong employability'. Some professional institutions insist on compulsory attendance every year.

Planning can play a major part in reducing risk! CPD creates opportunities for development and advancement with the help of knowledge. Having worked in the specialist radio-communications industry for over 20 years Deaf Alerter plc's experience and knowledge is second to none. Deaf Alerter plc have made a corporate commitment to sharing their expertise and understanding through CPD to help improve equality, access and most importantly, life safety – safe evacuation for disabled people.

The updated CPD explains the new Laws, British and European standards released in 2010 and 2011 (Equality Act, BS5839-9, BS 8300 and EN54-23). The seminar addresses these new and existing requirements and their significance in terms of building design and management. It identifies all of the technical solutions available, such as fire alarms for Deaf people and emergency refuge communication systems (EVC). It also considers their suitability to ensure an equally safe environment for everybody.

Is this seminar for you?

The CPD seminar; 'Fire Evacuation for Disabled People', is not just for those who are required to undertake CPD. It is suitable for access consultants, architects, fire officers, health and safety professionals, building managers and anyone involved in fire safety provision and specification. Feedback from our previous range of seminars has been extremely positive; over 8000 industry professionals have attended and received accredited certificates.

It is an excellent way to gain an understanding of the barriers faced by disabled people and the various solutions available to provide equal access to emergency evacuation warnings to aid egress.

Seminar content includes barriers experienced by Deaf and disabled people every day
